Project Prom Dress is a San Antonio, Texas 501(c)(3) founded in 2014 by Ashley Johnson and her husband to provide formal attire to teens who couldn't otherwise afford prom. The organization expanded its services in subsequent years to include homecoming dances, military balls, and other formal occasions, and now serves teen boys as well as girls. Operating from a boutique at 702 Donaldson Avenue across from Jefferson High School, the program racks new and gently used formal wear including dresses, suits, shoes, purses, and accessories. Project Prom Dress outfits approximately 200 to 250 teens annually with support from local sponsors and community volunteers.
