What does Houston Ballet Graceful Givings accept?
Houston Ballet Graceful Givings accepts dance costumes.
Houston Ballet Graceful Givings is a Houston, Texas 501(c)(3) program of Houston Ballet, founded in 2006 to redistribute surplus dance apparel from local dance retailers to underserved school dance programs across the Houston region. Each year the program gives away more than $96,000 worth of dance shoes, leotards, tights, and costumes to approximately 40 school dance programs serving over 7,400 students on free or reduced lunch. Local dance stores donate surplus inventory at the end of each season, which Houston Ballet sorts and routes to partner schools throughout the school year. The program operates from the Houston Ballet headquarters at 601 Preston Street in downtown Houston. Donations of new dance apparel from retailers are accepted year-round; individual donations are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Contact (713) 523-6300 or houstonballet.org/about/ece/graceful-givings/ for current donation logistics and partner-school information.
